 Date: 08/26/2022 This week I learned the importance of seeking advice from mentors. I have never sat down and had a full interview with someone that I look up to before this week's interview with Jeff, so it was an eye-opening experience. It made me realize how important it is to have the right people in your life that will encourage you, support you, and find ways to help you achieve your goals and dreams. I definitely have that in my life right now with my husband, family, and friends. They are the greatest support system in all that I do, but I guess I realized how important it is in regard to the workplace. I often have thought about work as just a place I go to put my work in for 8 hours a day and get paid, but I should be seeking for more opportunities while I am there. I should be talking with my bosses and learning from them, asking for advice, asking questions, and putting myself out there.  Date 08/19/2022 As we studied the overview of the 7 habits, there was one in particular that stood out to me the most and that was, "Begin with the end in mind." The reason that this one stood out to me so much is because I have always struggled with anxiety. A lot of my anxiety debilitates me from doing things, and causes me to put the future in a negative light. I always worry about money, my future home, providing for future children, the possible negative situations that could or could not happen, and all of the things that come with growing up. As I read the overview of this habit, and sat and thought about what I would want my "ending" to look like, it made me come to an important realization. When I am at the end of my life, I don't want to look back and think about all the things I missed out on, and all the time I sat contemplating about the future.  Date: 08/10/2022 There were many takeaways that I got while watching, "A Hero's Journey", but the main ones that stood out to me were:  1. We need to learn how to listen and ask questions rather than focus on being the smartest person in the room 2.Reflect on the the things that you lose track of time doing, and find ways to pursue them. 3.Ask the people around you what you are good at  4.Find a way to satisfy a need in the world These things stood out to me the most because I have been struggling and trying to figure out my divine potential. I have so many passions, goals, and ambitions, but I often struggle to know what is best for me. I have been counseling with the Lord and my family for those answers, but I feel that this talk was part of my answer.  Date: 08/05/2022 This week I was very inspired by the book we read, "Launching Leaders: An Empowering Journey for a New Generation "by Steven Hitz. This book felt like it was made for me and this time in my life. I often struggle with knowing who I want to become. I feel overwhelmed thinking about a long-term career, finances, and balancing everything in my life. Most of the time, I feel like I am lacking in many areas and not reaching my full potential, which is why this book was so powerful to me. The concepts that were shared about strengthening my relationship with God, picturing my ideal self and creating my core values, and following manifestations and formulas for success, are all things that I have been looking for in my life now. I now am prepared to figure out what my next steps in life are and create a concrete plan on how I can achieve and follow through.
